1. Purpose of This Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes the rules and restrictions for using the Home Therapy Labs (“HTL”, “we”, “our”) platform, website, mobile app, APIs, and associated services (“Services”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to comply with this AUP.

2. General Principles

Users must:

 

  • Use the Services responsibly

  • Protect the privacy of families, providers, and clinics

  • Comply with all applicable laws, including HIPAA

  • Avoid actions that harm system security, performance, or other users

3. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following activities:

3.1 Illegal, Harmful, or Abusive Behavior

  • Violating any applicable law or regulation

  • Harassing, threatening, or abusing any person

  • Uploading content that is defamatory, discriminatory, or harmful

  • Sharing inappropriate, obscene, or exploitative content

3.2 Privacy & Security Violations

  • Sharing login credentials or allowing unauthorized access

  • Attempting to access data you are not authorized to view

  • Circumventing security controls

  • Introducing malware, viruses, or harmful code

3.3 Misuse of the Platform

  • Using the Services to spam, send bulk unsolicited messages, or misuse notifications

  • Scraping, harvesting, or mining data without permission

  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or copying proprietary functionality

  • Using automated tools (bots, crawlers, scripts) that degrade performance

3.4 Misrepresentation & Fraud

  • Creating false identities or impersonating others

  • Providing misleading or fraudulent information

  • Misrepresenting your role (parent, provider, clinic staff, etc.)

 

 

4. Data & Content Rules

4.1 User Responsibility

Users are responsible for any content they submit, including:

  • Messages

  • Documents

  • Media uploads

  • Notes and updates

4.2 Protected Health Information (PHI)

Users must follow HIPAA best practices, including:

 

  • Avoiding unnecessary PHI in messages

  • Not exporting or sharing PHI outside approved workflows

  • Not downloading or distributing patient information without proper authorization

 

This placeholder AUP does not replace the formal HIPAA Notice, which will be published separately.

4.3 Intellectual Property

Content uploaded must not infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or proprietary rights of others.

5. System Integrity

You may not:

  • Attempt to overload, disrupt, or degrade system performance

  • Conduct security testing (penetration, load testing, etc.) without written permission

  • Interfere with normal service operations

6. API & Developer Use (If Applicable)

For developer and integrator accounts:

  • API keys must be kept secure

  • Automated integrations must follow rate limits

  • APIs cannot be used to scrape or replicate core functionality

  • Access must be limited to authorized systems and users

 

Violation of API rules may result in suspension or termination of access.

7. Enforcement

We reserve the right to take any necessary action, including:

  • Warning the user

  • Limiting features or access

  • Temporarily suspending an account

  • Permanently terminating an account

  • Cooperating with law enforcement when required

 

Actions may be taken without prior notice in cases of severe or harmful violations.
